Having learned about the dire conditions in which people were living in the former Soviet States like Ukraine and Belorus, Margaret felt called to use her musical talents to help Jewish people return to Israel. This musical ‘Exodus’ is based on the Biblical story of Israel’s deliverance from Egypt which parallels the modern day exodus of the Jewish people from many nations back to Israel in fulfilment of many Old Testament prophecies.

“… God will surely visit you and bring you out of this land to the land of which He swore to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob.” Genesis 50:24

Margaret is an experienced composer of children’s music having written 14 School Musicals in all. She is about to have the fifth one published by Out of the Ark Music.

One day in 1999 she felt challenged to use her musical talent to write ‘Exodus’ and produce a CD which could be sold to raise money to help Jews who were suffering persecution and poverty in the former Soviet Union. Many would like to make ‘aliyah’ to Israel but because of the economic conditions in Eastern Europe this is an impossibility. This exodus, which is gathering momentum, is paralleled by the Biblical Exodus from Egypt which is the theme of the musical.

All proceeds from the sale of the CDs and Musical Scores are being given to agencies which are helping Jews to emigrate to Israel - these are Ebenezer Emergency Fund, Bridges for Peace,. Exobus and Global Compassion. These Charities work with the Jewish Agency and others to provide transport and passports to those who wish to return to Israel.
